Genesis Advisers Co-Founder, Michael Watkins, Inducted into the Thinkers50 Hall of Fame

Founded in 2009, the Thinkers50 Hall of Fame pays homage to a select group of thinkers whose work has left an indelible mark on the realm of management. This prestigious honor is hosted by the Haier Group and celebrates individuals whose contributions have had a lasting impact on the field. The induction of Michael Watkins into this Hall of Fame is a testament to his significant and extraordinary contribution to management theory over many years.  

Michael Watkins, also a renowned Professor of Leadership and Organizational Change at IMD, and his seminal work, “The First 90 Days: Proven Strategies for Getting Up to Speed Faster and Smarter,” published in 2003, remains a cornerstone reference for leaders in transition. This book, alongside its successors, “Your Next Move: The Leader’s Guide to Managing Critical Career Transitions” and “Master Your Next Move: The Essential Companion to The First 90 Days,” has equipped countless leaders with essential tools and strategies to navigate critical career transitions successfully. 

Thinkers50 identifies and celebrates the best in management ideas, and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony is considered the “Oscars of management thinking” by the Financial Times. Past recipients of this prestigious accolade include luminaries like Peter Drucker, Michael Porter, and W. Chan Kim, further underscoring the caliber of thinkers represented in this Hall of Fame. 

We are immensely proud of Michael Watkins’ induction into the Thinkers50 Hall of Fame, a recognition that mirrors his unwavering commitment to advancing the field of management. As we look ahead, we are excited to continue the journey with Michael, exploring new horizons in leadership and organizational change.
